Subject: 4.7 Throttle body vacuum connection IP: Logged
Message: Recently finished a head gasket fix on my 4.7 and the only thing I haven't taken care of is this hose that runs from the throttle body to a solenoid behind the battery which looks like it runs to the canister & fuel leak detection pump under the bed. The truck dies when this line gets connected to the throttle body, I have no check engine light just a loud whistle from where the line should be connected... I've also tried swapping both lines just to see if I had crossed them @ the solenoid. And I bought a new solenoid... But still nothing!

Message: Does anyone know the routing of these hoses? maybe I have the hoses mixed up? Or what actuates the solenoid cause that seems to be failing....

Message: my two best guesses on the fix would be to go to
autozone and look up in the help[ section and
possibly register to find a guide for the vehicle
in question/go to the nearest dealer to get the
correct routing sequence.is your dakota a 2wd or
4wd?and did you replace any vacuum accessories and
switch uo the two system parts by chance?what i am
saying is that i think you got the 2wd/4wd parts
mixed up like putting on a tbi/header system for
the wrong vehicle and that your routing label with
the vehicle you should be able online to find the
fix pretty easily.

Message: richard here again forgot to add that the routing
label maybe able to solve the issue or maybe when
youu disconnected the battery you know maybe have
a lockup instead of a code because the was no
handheld preent.

Message: rich again i am now going to say the issue might
be the fact that when you did your work you may
not have connected handheld to battery to fuel
pressure relief to work involved.this may have
done something to a sensor issue.
