 Subject: 4.7 falls on face

I have a 2000 QC 4x4 with a 4.7. It has recently started falling
on its face. At first it seemed to be under load but last run it
started doing it going down hill. I lose all power but the truck
doesn't stall. It idles perfectly. Even though I have my foot to
the floor. If I sit at idle for a few seconds, foot off the gas, it will
"recover" and I will be able to take off with no problems. It will
happen again it's just hard to guess how long it will be. I have
had codes for catalyst below threshold and now large leak or
no flow in the evap circuit. Seems strange how it feels there is
no fuel flow and yet it idles so smooth when this happens.
Anyone have experience with this?
