Message: I purchased a Dakota a few months ago from a friends
grandfather. It has 188000 miles on it but still runs strong due
to him being one of the best mechanics in my small down. Just
last week I started the truck to go to work. Started the truck
while I was at work to show a coworker something I had done
to it and 4 hours later I went to start it and nothing. Starter
clicks once. Doesn't turn over. I removed the starter and had it
tested. Works fine. Installed a new starter same thing click no
turnover. Returned the new starter. Battery is perfectly fine
truck runs if I pop the clutch on it which is what I've been doing
for a week or so. I'm not sure what the problem can be I need
help. I've also checked all of the relays and fuses everything
there is good

Message: Check to see how much voltage you're getting at the starter. You need at least 10 or 11 volts to make the starter operate.
