I have a 01 Dakota with a dead engine.
I have a wrecked 97 Ram 1500 with a good engine.
Putting the Ram's engine in the Dakota.
Will I have to move the Ram's ecu into the Dakota or
will the Dakota's ecu work with the Ram engine?

Dakota ecu should work ok , and would be the easiest
even if you have to transfer sensors or throttle body.
