 Subject: Change aux trans cooler with radiator?

1998 Dakota with 5.2 and automatic, 2wd. Need to replace radiator.
The radiator has an auxiliary transmission cooler from the factory. Auto parts stores sell radiators both with and without this extra cooler.
So... do I need to buy the radiator with the extra cooler, at twice the price, or can I buy the radiator without the aux cooler and reuse the old cooler?
In other words, is the aux trans cooler permanently fastened to the radiator?
