 Subject: 2001 Dodge Dakota quit with no warning

My 01 Dodge Dakota 4.7, 4X4, just quit with no
warning going down the road. I can put gas in the
intake and it will run and then eventually die
again once it burns through the fuel. I replaced
the fuel pump less than 6 months ago so it
"shouldn't" be that. Last summer, we had on going
problems with it sputtering and stalling but there
was at least a warning. Long story short, the
problem quit happening when cold weather set in
but the check engine light has continued to stay
on with no codes generating, not even 1.
Up until yesterday, it has been running smooth and
it just quit and won't start back w/o putting the
fuel in the intake but won't stay running. Last
summer, we came to the conclusion it was the
computer w/ turned into another long story and we
still didn't replace it. I remention the computer
because while trying to find one that the truck
would accept, it would start it but it wouldn't
push fuel into it and it wouldn't stay running;
much the same as the way its acting now. I'm just
wondering if we are not back to Point A with
computer issues or could it be something else??
