Message: I have a 2000 Dakota with 275,000 miles and has
always run like a top. Today I put a new radiator
cap and belt on it and then took it into town for
an errand. When I came out and started the truck
it ran like crap and was obviously misfiring. By
the time I got home (just a few blocks) the check
engine light came on and it shows to be P0307 #7
cylinder misfire. I let it idle for a bit then
cleared the fault code and took it up the street.
By the time I had gone about 1/2 mile it was
running like crap again. No check engine light
but still was registering the P0307 code. I have
not touched a thing on this truck for quite some
time other than the belt and radiator cap. Any
ideas? TIA

Message: Here is what I did last night.
I pulled number one coil pack and plug and swapped
it with number seven. When I pulled seven's coil
pack I noticed water around the end of it. I
cleaned it off and put a little bit of dielectric
grease where it contacts the plug and put it all
back together. It runs great and no more fault
code.
I'm hoping that does it although I do believe I
will change all the plugs today. It's been a long
while since this was done. I'll change all the
coil pack "O" rings also.
