Subject: v8 engine swap IP: Logged
Message: hey there i have a 96 dakota 2wd 5spd and i just
recently put a 5.2 in it out of a 94 ive bought the
96 v8 comp from junkyard and wired a harness .. now
i have it running but no vacum lines on it and i
think the obd1 vacum lines are diffrent ? can
anyone one help ? also what else on motor will need
to be changed

Message: The '94 motor is OBDI and the '96 is ODBII so the wiring and
vacuum lines would be different. Also, the 94 has an EGR and
the 96 does not. I'm pretty sure you should be able to use all
of the sensors from the 96 on the 94. I'm sure there is
something else I'm missing.

Message: so can i just block the line on the egr . or do i
have to remove it ? also if i can get vacum lines
off a 98 dodge ram same magnum which is obd2 will
the vacum lines and sensors off it work

Message: If it were me, iw ould pull the intake manifold, all the sensors and vacuum line off of the 96 motor and put them on the 94.

Message: i changed all the stuff over it runs alot better
when it gets running , but its having trouble
starting now it seems its flooding out .. im gonna
try the idle air conrtol or whatever its called
any other ideas what i could be

Message: I will begin Monday morning I will be putting a 318 small block in my now V6 Dakota. I would like to know if I'm going to run into any problems pulling out the V6 and putting in a 318?
