Hey guys –
So I have a 1998 dakota 4x4 5.2L with the upgraded tow package, bigger breaks etc. I am pretty mechanical but never worked on a 4x4 issue. So recently when 4 wheel high is engaged its been making a clunking noise with the rotation of the wheel. 4 wheel low seems ok. I don’t use either much but with all the snow in NY this winter when you need them you need them. Not sure where to start but I’m hoping I can get some steps to help troubleshoot this. Not sure if this matters but it’s the 5 speed with the manual stick to engage 4x4.
