For about $110, you can order the Factory Service Manual that illustrates every freakin nut, bolt, and wire in the whole truck for the 2wd, the 4wd, the 4.7, the 3.9, the 5.2, the 5.9 and every other variation of the 2000 Dodge Dakota. IT's about 4" thick and it pretty much is the bible.

Haynes does not have a repair manual for a 2003 dakota 4.7l yet. Does anyone know of another similar maunual available for a reasonable proce. The $110 for the factory manual is a little steep.

the heater isn't getting hot, I think the thermostat is stuck open. I need a photo of the housing. Is it possiple to unstick the thermostat with a flat blade scadiver without replacing the .99cent heart valve and gasket on my 2000 dakota v/8 4.7 litre?

No.
But if you want to get at the thermostat, removing the housing really is the only way.
The only gasket is the one on the thermostat itself.

Save yourself a bundle and buy a used one off ebay. I get all mine there. I always watch till a nice clean one shows up. usually takes a few days to 2 weeks. most I paid for one is 45 bucks. All that I bought are in like new condition.
So many problems .... So little time

I have it on disk, much easier to work with, don't remember how much I paid for it, I have a 00 CC, 4.7, 5spd, 3.55 gears
