ive got a 98 ext cab Dakota 5.2 automatic and I just replaced the u joints and carrier ( have done this a thousand times on other vehicles)and after 2 hrs it was ready to drive got 1 mile down the rd and idk something failed and my driveshaft fell out destroyed the carrier, drive shaft, emissions box and I missing a u joint but the caps to the ujoint is still in the differential..i just wanna swap the 2 piece with a R/T 1 piece and im getting a lot of mixed answers saying it works great and some saying no and Idk what to think or do ..should I swap? my truck is lowered 2 inches its 2wd and do I need to remove the cross member the carrier would sit on and ..and for the love of god does anyone know where I can get one that's not $400+? I cant find one anywhere
