 Subject: Dakota 99 5.2 V8

Hey guys having problems with truck
overheating. I just put in a new
oil pressure gauge and its close to
the extreme high. its not a fan
problem. There's no oil in the
water either. could it still
possibly be a head gasket and if so
how could I tell? Are there any
alternative ways to fix a head
gasket without replacing it?
P.S. I am using antifreeze

You can do the block sealer stuff. Worked good on my 3.0
toyota when its head gasket blew. But try just putting in a
lower thermosate in it like a 165-180. Helped mine switching
to the 180. Thinkin bout swappin to the 165 not sure yet.

If you are burning coolant you should be able to smell it from
the exhaust. Also take a look at the spark plugs. You can tell if
you're burning coolant be the color of the plugs. You don't
want to install a t stat with a lower temp than 185 unless you
want the CEL to stay on.
