All started when the cat went bad. 2nd one in a
year. Decided to solve the issue by replacing the
intake gasket. (leaks oil into combustion and
clogs the cat). Put it back together and NO oil
pressure. Tried flushing, no help. Dropped the pan
no clog in the screen, changed the oil pump.
Cleaned every bit of sludge from the engine.
Started and had great pressure. Drove about 3
miles with no drop. Next day I started it and
drove less than a block and the oil pressure
dropped to zero again ! I have a new pressure
sending unit. I'm stumped ! Dropping a pan on a 4
wheel drive is a bear!

Message: You have a bad pump or the oil passage is plugged.

Message: Oil bypass sticking? I know in a cummins 6bt if the oil bypass gets messed up you get to high oil pressure or it gets stuck open and you get no oil pressure. Something to look into since you ruled out sludge and pump, Also hook up a mechanical oil pressure gauge to verify the electrical gauge is actually working fine.
