i would like to swap my 3.9 out for 1 5.2, i have
been reading around and it says it should drop in
and hook up. i Have a 96 with a 3.9 2wd 5speed. i
need to know should i replace clutch when i do the
swap. what do i need for the engine to operate
correctly and will my transmission be able to handle
the extra power/torque

3.9 to 5.2 is rather easy, you will need a flywheel
for that 5.2 and a clutch. The 3.9 and 5.2 do not
share the same flywheel. Make sure that your CPS is
for a standard it is longer than the auto's. Find
what year PCM's will work in that 96 that was out of
a V8, the Ram PCM's will work and they are
programmed different for standard as well. The
trans should be okay with a 5.2.
