I have a 99 RC with a 5.2 and i want get a little more sound out of the exhaust. The local muffler shop told me that they would run 3" pipe from the converter back to dual outlets for $175-200. I am a little concerned about that being a little bit loud. Is there another option for around the same price?
thanks

Do you want it louder or not? It all depends upon what muffler you get and where you place the tips. With the tips pointed back it shouldn't be that loud (to you) and go with a muffler that is not extremely aggresive.

If you want it to be really loud go with a flow 50 series or 2 glass packs with true duals and 5 inch tips.

NO no no, If you want it really loud just run your duals, with no mufflers, and then if they'll do it at the shop just have them drop the cat out too!! I know everybody says that the 02 sensor will have a fit over it and send you a bad signal but, I've been runnin my 99 extended cab, 4x4 sport with the 318 in it with out the convertor for about 2 months now, its doin fine and hasn't given me any problems. but dont do it if you want it to be soft soundin exhaust cause its not it really loud and has a sharp sound to it

The 40 series don't "rumble" enough and arn't deep enough for me. that's my 4.7 though, it's just loud and annoying. Trying cutting the muffler out first, to see if that helps.

Nitro Junkie---Could you clarify what the different "Series" flowmasters are, as i see you refer to them as 40's or 50's......all i know about them are 1,2,or 3 chambered, which i thought 1 was the loudest, kinda gutted muffler sound, with 3 being the quieter of the flowmaster breed.
