Subject: check engine service 4 wheel drive IP: Logged
Message: This week my 2005 Dodge Dokota check engine service light came on and off serveral times. Later in the week while driving the truck at 50MPH the truck shifted in 2LO on its own and then back within 5 second. The service light still came on intermittenerly. I took the truck to the dealer and all they did was disconnect the 4wd drive servo. They stated it would cost $699 for parts and $275 to install a new moduale for the trans this seems high. Does any one have any other thoughts.

Message: Did you get the code from them? If so you can look it up and get a better understanding as to what is going on instead of just taking the mechanic's word for it.

Message: No I did not get a code. I will call tomorrow and see if I can get a code from them and go from there. Thanks I wasn't thinking the other day when I picked it up.

Message: Just to be clear, is it the CEL (little picture of an engine) or
the "service 4WD" light that's coming on? Are the LEDs on
your 4WD switch still lit?
