I have a '95 dakota v8 4x4 5.2l. After driving in a intense rain we stopped for gas. After restarting the truck we were unable to have the head lights on and the dash lights turned up at the same time. all the dash gauges would go wonky when the dash light was brightened and the buzz would sound. same thing would happen with the gauges if the turn signal was used. the charge was also not holding and the engine was bogging when we were back on the highway. at one point on the way home everything returned to normal. The next day the issue returned. Today we changed the altenator and the problems are the same.any suggestions to what might be wrong?

check the famous bad splice behind the batt. Could not hurt.
