Subject: spark plugs 101? IP: Logged
Message: i have a 1994 dakota with a 318
cold air intake
fastman throttle body
modded intake manifold
24 lb injectors
accel coil
champion plugs .028 gap
hedman headers
dynomax cat back exhaust
what is the recommended spark plug at this point
should i also change the gap
i am currently running the champion plugs with a gap of .028
we are looking for the most low end torque
i am going to pull a plug tomorrow to see if its running lean of fat. and what is the recommendations for each situation.
it did seem to gain more low end torque with the smaller one... but thats just a guess
thanks for your help

Message: I would think with the accel coil's highe than stock voltage and probably more current, that you would want to open the gap up for a bigger spark. You may find you are running a little fat. Those 24lb/hr injectors are more than you need for sure.
