Subject: 4x4 issue IP: Logged
Message: I've noticed that my 4 wheel drive won't engage. I also have a "jumping needles" issue on my instrument cluster.... I'm wondering if the 4x4 is governed by the same module that is causing the jumping. I don't have manual hubs, and there isn't any actuate button on the dash. It's a '99 5.2 v8. Any experience with this?
Thanks and Regards
Ray

Message: 99's are manual t-case not like the 2001's with all the electronics so if it won't go in look at a problem with the shifter. It might be in the t-case too.
Might be a bad ground on the cluster.

Message: 99dak,
for the 2001's with all the electronics, I'm having an issue where the
4wd is engaging all on it's own at random. Is there any fix for this?

Message: There are three parts to the system. The transfer case control module (TCCM), the transfer case shift motor, or it's switch.
Can you still control it? If it shifts, can you change it back?
Bad switch?
