Subject: 99 dodge dakota 5.2 starts then dies IP: Logged
Message: hey i was just wondering if any of you guys had any input. my truck(99 dodge dakota sport 5.2) will start up and die at completly random times. in the past 2 weeks it has done in 3 times. usualyl in the morning i will go out and start it and runs just fine then i will go on my lunch break and when i start it it starts and dies immediatly. it will do this 2 to 3 times and then it will start and run. also i can keep it running by giving it gas and another thing that might be worth mentioning is everyday its been happening it has been raining/snowing out. i dont get any engine codes so any input would be apprecaited

Message: I would have your mechanic check your intake gasket in the rear.Common problem for the 5.2.I have done my own on two dodge trucks.I tried the sensors and checked the fuel pressure.I had no codes.Gasket fixed the problem.
