Message: I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota 4.7L V8. It has run fine and served me great until recently. On a hour trip one day it felt like it was running out of gas at 60mph on the highway (chugging). This soon went away but soon came back. I have a friend that has a code reader and we read the codes and I ended up replacing 1 of the 4 O2 sensors that was bad. This didn't change the issue with the vehicle. The plugs were replaced the air filter cleaned and the fuel system cleaned. Then at the next reading when checking the O2 sensor reading all (4) were throwing bad readings now (high then low reading very erratic). This problem comes and goes. It runs rough like it is missing at idle when accelerating it chugs and bucks but if you push the pedal down it clears up and goes away. Some of the time there is no problem at all and runs fine. It seems like something is going out I am just not sure what. Today I intend to check the fuel pressure in the fuel rail to see if that is good to rule out a fuel pump/filter. Should the fuel pressure read fine what should I check next?
