My wife's friend just stopped by to have me look at her leaky brakes. Besides some knucklehead leaving a channel lock pliers clamping one of the lines, I also see serious leaking between the master cylinder and the booster.
I'm a Volvo guy so I'm not sure exactly what to make of it. My instinct is there should be a gasket between the two and that gasket is probably shot.
Give me some guidance, folks? I'm handy enough with a wrench, but a Dodge truck is about as far outside my comfort zone as one could get.
Lacking any help, I'd tell her to replace both master cylinder and booster, but she probably can't afford the parts bill, even if I do the labor for next to nothing.
Related, are aftermarket parts OK on these vehicles, or should I stick with OE new or rebuilt?

Message: leaking from between the master cyl and brake booster would be a bad seal on the master cyl and it should be replaced. aftermarket is fine.

Message: The fluid is getting too hot and you need to cool
it. Try Kale Cos brake lines. 69.95
