Hello,
Going to change the tranny fluid and filter in my 2000 4.7 liter Dakota. It has the 45RFE automatic transmission and I was wondering what is the best or recommended fluid to use?

ATF+4 is the new stuff, it's pricey.
It should have come with ATF+3. You can do either.

Checked on the cost of ATF+4 at advanced auto and it was pricey, 7.00 a qt.
So for the fluid and filter change I think is 5 qts, but I guess worth the money in the long run.
