Subject: P0122/0123 Codes

Message:
Ok, Long story...Long. I have a '00 Dakota 4.7 Manual 4X4. Last week my O2 sensory and PS switch (with matching codes) went bad and my truck (as described exactly in this forum) was getting horrible gas mileage.

I replaced the Pre-Cat O2 sensor and the PS Pressure switch and everything seemed back to normal(including the CEL turning off) The next day I get the TPS codes (low and high voltage) and once again, am getting horrible fuel mileage. I have replaced the TPS and checked the voltage which is at idle 1.9 and WOT 2.9

I am at a loss to trying to find where the short is. Has anyone experienced this as well? Any help is much appreciated.

Bad TPS maybe? Did you clean all of the power steering fluid from the wiring harness and connectors?

Is there a specific wiring harness you refer too? I cleaned just the ones that I connected the new sensors too. Do I have to do it on all of them??

Thanks for the reply

No, just the harness for the sensors you replaced.

Ok, found some more PS fluid in my PCM. Cleaned that and ALL wiring harnesses easily accessible and was able to clear out all codes except P0123. (P1296 invited himself to the party last night) Went to my auto parts store, connected his computer and even though it said "clear complete" P0123 never went away, did this multiple times and got the same result.

Can a short somewhere be the culprit?

Update....by monotoring the signal circuit from my TPS connector, I pulled each fuse one by one. Found out that once I pull the Fuel Pump fuse the voltage goes back to normal (0.6v) according to the wiring diagram, the TPS circuit is not even connected to that. I disconnected each ground (starter, frame, engine block, and alternator)one by one, and had no effect on the voltage.

I'm at a loss right now as to where this short could be in relation to my fuel pump fuse

Hello, I am having this code pop up and my symptoms are stalling after start. It is giving me p0123 code periodically but I am resetting it when testing things. I checked voltage at TPS and it looks fine with at all positions. I checked the resistance on the IACV and it is giving me 45-50 ohms on all four contacts. Anyone know what the resistance should be on the IACV contacts disconnected?
