Message: I have a '01 CC 4.7L auto. I have recently developed a vibration/noise in the throttle. It occurs mostly when applying light pressure to the pedal in the 2000-2500 rpm range. I don't notice when I go through this range with the cruise controls. I do have a homebrew replacing the tophat and a K&N dropin in the stock filter box. Anyone else experience this and have any cures?

Message: You need to describe the kind of noise it is and perhaps a better location of where you think/hear it.

Message: Installed F/B 72mm TB on 2002 4.7 Auto QC & got a very aggravating vibration thru the gas pedal & could feel it in the steering wheel + it was noisy ... like a mid pitched growl. Happened at 2500 RPM right at driving speed 70 mph. Needless to say it was annoying enough that I immediately had it removed. That was when the truck was new, only 900 miles on it.
Apparently F/B is working on some kind of box that will eliminate the problem in the air intake chamber. The stock 4.7 air box has a couple of baffles/chambers to eliminate this, or at least keep it to a minimum.
Now at 4000 miles I notice a minor vibration (in gas pedal, same as before)at around 2000 RPM. Could have been there before & I just didn't notice or whatever.
SpeedTweaks could give you a more professional opinion on this as Bernd was the one working on my truck.

Message: Low pitched growl is as discriptive as I could come up with. It was strange I only experienced it with foot pressure on the throttle. That noise seems to have gone away for now but I experienced something else a little more dramatic.
I tried removing the horn on the filter box and when I cranked it up and drove it, it sounded like the trans was running wilde, like it wasn't running in sync with the engine. At one point, it went away when I shifted out of then back into o-drive, but returned when I slowed to turn around. After somemore fiddling, everything has returned to normal. Must have confused the pcm and it finally recalibrated itself. Anyone else experience anything like this? Think I might chunck this electronic junk and get a 727 t-flite or something.

Message: Update:
The latter problem turned out to be the fan clutch. I guess it froze up and made the engine sound like it was running twice as fast as it really was.
