i have a 98 dakota with a 318 and its burning oil and gettin hot all the time and it just dnt have the horsepower u would thnk a v8 would have so i found a 360 HO out of a 2002 dakota rt it was already in a 318 dakota the guy said it bolted right up to 318 tranny but idk if there is anything else i gotta change like ecm or anything? and will it bolt up to stock 318 tranny? is it all plug and play? please help

It's plug and play, just change the PCM.

you may need to change the torque converter too. i'm pretty sure the 318 is internal balanced and the 360 is external balanced. you can tell by looking at the harmonic balancer on the 360 vs. the 318. the 360 will be thicker and on the 360 torque converter you should be able to see where weights have been welded on.

360 was not hemi; nor was there a 360 HO.

actaully you just need to use the flex plate that came with the 360 most dodges that came with the 360 use a 46re trans the 318 uses a 44re trans therefore the torque convertors arent inter changeable , the newer 360 magnums are balanced through the flex plate the lA 360 were balanced with the converter
