I will be buying a 4x4 dodge dakota, what should I be looking for as far as the rear end & transmission. I will be getting the 4.7 motor.
I want the truck to kick A** in the snow!

What year Dakota are you buying? What tranny?
The 4.7 will kick ass on dry pavement. Try putting
some weight (tube sand) in the back. It's very easy
to break the a** end free.
If you can, get all wheel drive.

I have the 2000 4x4 Dakota SLT. It has been a great truck, plenty of power and good in the snow. My only complaint is I only get 12-13 mpg just driving around town.
