Subject: Fuel Gauge Problem IP: Logged
Message: Anybody out there know how to fix a fuel gauge that doesn't move off of empty. Yes, "put some gas in the tank" was my first answer too. But even when its full it won't move the needle. I looked for a short or broken wire at the fuel tank and checked the gauge and still can't find anything wrong. Sees like the needle moves when the truck is turned off but just barely above Empty. I know there is a remedy out there somewhere

Message: If the sending unit is working properly then it could be wiring or the gage. If not, change the fuel pump/sending unit assy. Since it is only avaiable as a unit. If it were me and tight on cash, run it until the fuel pump starts acting up and use that trip odometer everytime you fill up. Been there, done that. Never ran out of fuel either.
