Subject: Front end vibration - `07 Dakota IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys, I need a little help diagnosing something. I'm getting a front end vibration when I apply brakes lightly. The vibration can't be felt through the brake pedal or steering wheel.
-I don't hear a roaring sound while driving so I don't think wheel bearing
-With no brake pedal vibration I don't think it would be rotors
-There seems like a slight clunking sound when going over smaller bumps at slower speeds.
I reached underneath and it felt like the sway bar links have wiggle in them. Should they have any play? Could this be a cause?

Message: If it only happens during braking then it's most
likely warped rotors.

Message: To answer both of your last questions in order, Yes and No. They may not be warped but have enough residue built up to cause that. If you doubt it, find a dial indicator and check the runout.
