 Subject: fuel pressure regulator

I have a 1999 dakota slt, 5.2 v-8, auto and have to cycle the ignition 2-3 times before the eng. will start. The fuel pump sounds OK. My question to all you gurus is: Can one purchase and install the regulator without buying the whole fuel pump assembly?

What you describe sounds like either the check valve at the fuel pump or lekay injectors.
You won't find the parts but I foound a complete unit for 193.00 here:
