So I bought a 2000 Dodge Dakota 4.7L V8 magnum
Extended cab. I haven't had the truck a month yet,
and the driver side wheel brake indicator was put
on wrong, to where it was slipping and grinding my
brake as I was driving, me and a family member
were able to hammer it straight and into its
proper position but it slipped out a day later, so
now I have a groove in my rotor, and on top of
that, I took it back to dealership to get a
doorlocked fixed( I had bought that up before the
problems started, which was before I purchased the
truck) so they said they'd fix it. On my way back
into to ( the dealership is 45minutes away) my
engine started making a hollow noise, I had my
friend with me and she wanted the A/C on so it was
on the whole trip, I usually drive with my windows
down. But as we get into town, I hear a hollow
noise coming from the engine, I pull over, open
the hood, and its coming from the general area of
the belt serpentine belt. I go into where I pulled
over (O' Reilys) and had someone come out, he said
it could be The Clutch, Or Insulator I think he
said, or some other thing..which I forgot, but I
called up a family member, who works on cars since
he was 7..but farmer kid so all he knows is handed
down information, and he says it sounds like a
berring on the A/C clutch has dropped. It only
makes the sound when its started, the A/C doesnt
even have to be on anymore for it to make the
noise..Any Ideas/Suggestions on what I should do?
I'm getting estimates on the parts for it and the
A/C inspected, but the dealership said they'd try
to consempate us for parts/service..soo, I was
wondering if their is any cheap relilable way to
fix this, already put 4,400$ into this truck..
