Message: Your truck's engine uses a JTEC PCM with a 16 tooth crank and cam tone wheel. 2000-2002 Dakotas, and 2000-early 2002 Durangos. I'm not sure if the Jeep GCs made the switch. The Rams did, perhaps in 2003.
In model year 2003 the Dakota went to a NGC PCM that uses a 32 tooth crank and cam tone wheel. Late model year 2002 the Durango went with the NGC PCM. This introduced a 32 tooth crank and cam tone wheel. None of the 32 teeth engines will work with your PCM.
