Message: Today my A/C clutch went out on my 4.7 Dakota. I have a new compressor ordered from O'reillys along with the accumulator and orifice tube.
Question, where is the orifice tube going to be located?
Everything else looks like it's going to be an easy replacement. And I'm planning on flushing the system out.
Anyone have any tips?

Message: Basically what happened today was it was like 110 degrees here in Missouri. I left work, and cranked down the a/c and it wouldn't get cool at all. I stopped about 3 miles down the road and the clutch was engaged and turning, however there was black smoke coming out from behind the pulley.
Just a little while ago, I went out to mess with it, and turned the a/c on and it started cooling again.
Im still going to replace everything, but any idea on what happened here? Why did it not cool and smoke and now it seemingly works fine?
Thanks in advance!!!

Message: Where exactly did you see the smoke come from?
Are you sure it wasn't the belt slipping?
