Subject: Late Shift out of 4WD? IP: Logged
Message: Hey everyone,
Question for all you long time Dakotas owners out there who know a hell alot more about them than me.
On occassion I lock into 4wd to get through this one segment of road that I go over sometimes. I turn on the 4WD going about 5 mph and then have to come to a stop due to the road. Once I get through the rough part I accelerate and put it back into 2wd. I accelerate up to about 35 mph up an incline, and after about .1~.2 miles it clunks and jars (kind of like hitting a big ass pot hole)...it happening about 50% of the time when I do go through here
Is this the 4wd taking awhile to disenage, and by the time it does I'm already above the speed I should be switching from 4-2wd making it a hard switch?
Any info is appreciated.
Thanks, Pure

Message: Make sure you don't have mismatched tires on your truck. Even different brands showing the same size on the sidewall can actually vary a LOT. I have Coopers mixed with Goodyears, all 265/70r16 but major bind occurs. Gotta get the rest of the Coopers!
