I'm having cooling problems with my 01 Dakota 4.7 current
mods are airaid full intake 68mm tb ported and polished airaid
tb spacer 3" catback exhaust w/ glasspack superchips power
programmer and no cat and I'm running Ngk iridium plugs.
The problem I'm having is when I'm going up hills the temp
guage creeps past the half way mark to almost 3/4 and stays
there for a while before coming down. I'm running a 180
degree jet performance thermostat and added water wetter.
Tomorrow I was going to do a radiator flush and new
thermostat. MY QUESTION IS should I stay with the 180 or
go back to the stock 195 and should I use the water wetter?

Stay with the 180 and make sure the electric fan is coming on as it should and check the fan clutch for wear. Also, check the outside of a/c condenser coil and inbetween the condenser and radiator.
