I've got a 318/727 trans i pulled out of an 80s fifth avenue I can't remember the exact year.I stripped it down and rebuilt it a few years ago.I put it back in an 81 dodge mirada, got it running..not driving just running and then decided to scrap the car.Now the motor/trans is sitting in my garage.

Question, a buddy has a 93 dakota with a 318 already in it.Obviously everything will bolt up engine wise but i'm concerned about the computer stuff. How difficult is it to convert everything over or add whatever it is i need to make it run?

Thanks, Steve

Everything wont bolt up.. you'll have problems with the magnum serpentine belt accessories (not enough bolt bosses in LA engine head) the intake from the Mag wont bolt on the LA engine to retain your EFI, the tranny mount will have to be modified to support the 727 and your driveshaft will have to be lengthened because the 727 is shorter.

Mag heads and intake on the LA engine after swapping in AMC lifters and pushrods, then stay with the OD tranny thats in the Dak now. I have heard of distributor issues doing this but not run into it myself.
