Good day all,
I have only 62000 miles on my 2000 Dakota, and never changed the drive belt yet.
It does not look bad, but just wondering how often is the recomended change interval.

I have a 2000 4.7 liter as well. I replaced my serpentine belt at around 90K. The last thing that you want is for this belt to snap. I would be surprised that at 62K miles you would need to do it. Mine at 90K still looked good and my tech said that I didn't need to do it but for like $70 I had it done and got peace of mind.

yeah Mike I am figuring the same thing. After 10 years it is probably a good time to replace.

parts store say their is two diff. belts for the 4.7 v8 2003 dakota quad cab. one is 88 inches -the other is 883/4 inches. parts book doesnot say why their is 2 sizes. any help out their???? thanks toby

I've read somewhere here that there are two diffferent size power steering pulleys. Not sure why but that would explain the two different size belts. Maybe there is a difference between the 4x4 and 4x2?

I was wondering what size sepintine belt I need for my dodge Dakota 2003 4.7 liter v8 and alost the ac idler pulley and the belt tesioner
