Subject: Dealer having trouble w/front end align IP: Logged
Message: OK, so this isn't specific to V8s, but I have one so I thought I'd post here.
When I test drove my 4x2 QC I pointed out that the steering wheel was crooked and that it pulled a little. Since these 4.7/5spds/3.92/LSD are hard to find and since I work about a mile from the dealer I figured it wasn't that big a deal. Plus the sales guy said to let him know when I brought it in and he'd have the truck detailed.
Well over the weekend I put about 200 miles on my new baby making the grand total Monday morning 295 when I dropped it at the dealer.
Have it done by 4? "No problem". I call the sales guy 4 times and finally leave a message with one of his cohorts. 2PM comes - "Your truck is all ready to go" I hear over the phone.
Get dropped by a coworker at 5:30PM. Get in, no detail, no wash - damn. Hit the street, steering wheel is still crooked and it still pulls - just not as much - damn! There is a greasy arm print on two places on my drivers window sill - Damn!
Today at 1PM - "sure we can take care of that, we'll put it on the rack right now". 5:15PM, "they're having some problems and want to keep it over night" - "can we rent you a car?" - F***in a your renting me car, and not one of those Metros like when you kept my wife's Caravan.
So I have a Ford Focus sitting out front where my brand new QC should be.
What kind of f*****g problems could they be having in aligning the front end on a truck with less than 300 miles on it? Did someone drive it into the curb at 30mph before I got in it the first time? I am... well.. Damn!

Message: I took my dak back about a week after buying it
(blemishes in the paint) after a lot of arguing,
they rented me a car....enterprise rental was
out of the standard, only had the SAAB
wagons left ; ) man, they could have kept my
dak for a week for all I cared.
my steering wheel is slightly off, but doesnt
pull, I lowered mine though...you should
definately raise hell. thats why you pay so
much for a new truck...
