Subject: 4.7l hard start cold pump or injectors? IP: Logged
Message: I am having a hard starting issue with my 2000 4.7 auto 4x4 Dak mostly when its cold. When I start the truck after it sits I have to cycle the key 3 to 4 times to get it to start. I put a fuel pressure gauge on it and it starts at 30psi when the key is first time and jumps to 60psi when cranked. It settles to about 54psi when running. The idle is terrible when cold and lacks power for about a block.
I am leaning toward the injectors as after its started there is a good deal water in the exhaust. Anybody else had this problem, and what pressure are the injectors? I've heard I can use Ford Motorsport 19lb injectors.
