Subject: Performance Mods on the cheap ? ! IP: Logged
Message: I'm looking for cheap mods or upgrades or servicing for a 98 Dakota 5.2 v8 magnum for better performance. . . i think i'm not the only one out there looking to do better for cheap! I just want to help the truck run its best
Heres what I've done myself:
- New Spark plugs, Wires, Distributor cap and Rotor, Ignition coil, new Throttle position sensor
- i removed the magnum air box and put on a massive cone air cleaner with 4 inch hose . . . just did this today so i havent had time to interpret the effects - thoughts?
Thoughts or suggestions. . .
- Adding a 50mm throttle body?
- Otherwise how to increase quantity and quality of air to fuel ratio?
- I read suggestions of removing to clean the intake manifold insides...good or bad?
- New catalytic converter? (only 1 on this truck)
- New straight through muffler for better flow - i dont want it too loud so Magnaflow or Flowmaster or Glasspack?
- Would it make sense to run a 180degree thermostat for the summer? or even bother to replace the stock 195?
