Hello, this is my first dodge. I bought this truck about 1-2 months ago. It's a 01 V8 4.7 quad cab 2wd. When I got the truck I took it in to have a keyless entry remote programmed. The service woman said that there computer showed that the EGR valve need replaced. So I went to advance auto to get one and found out that the truck didnt have one. so they said. Does anyone have any Ideal what other valve she might have been talking about. Here is what the truck is doing. The truck has been hesitant to start. You have to try the key 3-4 times to get it to start. After it starts it seems to run fine. If anyone has any ideal it would be very helpful. I like the truck alot. I hate to get rid of it.

Advance Auto is correct. The 4.7L engine in your truck does not have EGR.
It does, however, have a PCV valve. It's attached to the outboard side of the oil filler (not filter: FILLER) housing, just under the A/C hoses.

Ok kool thanks I will check trhat out in the morning. Would that make the truck not start right? Thanks again. Also I see alot about the gas cap deal. Could that be a problem to because it is an aftermarket one that was on the truck when I got it.
