I have a 2004 Dodge Dakota 8cyl 4 wheel drive. My cigarette lighter has no power and I need it to power my GPS. I checked all the fuses and they are good, I pulled the panel off with the cylinder housing and unplugged the housing to the power feed and placed my volt meter on the 2 leads and I have no voltage from therer. I looked in the Chilton manual for the wiring diagram and it does not exist. Any suggestions and or help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to the fuse panel at left end of dash.
Remove 15amp fuse number 15.
Check it (again) or replace it. Its sole purpose in life is to power the lighter socket. Make sure it's a 15amp fuse.

For a 2004 Dakota, here's the power:

From battery
To ignition switch RUN and ACC positions
To the fuse panel on the left side of the dash
To fuses:
F6 (windshield wiper) and
F8 (radio) and
F10 (turn signal flasher) and
F15 (lighter socket)

If your wipers, radio and turn signals are working, it's most likely the lighter socket fuse or wire connections.
