The other day I stoped at a stop sign then took off normal. My engine light came on and wouldnt shift out of 2nd. It starts off fine from first to second but it just will not shift past second. I was told it was in limp home mode. I pulled the code and it was P0700. I replaced the transducer pressure sencer. My engine light went out but still does not shift past second. Any suggestions? Its an 02 Dakota with the 4.7

Had the exact same thing happen to mine today. Same P0700 code. Won't shift past second, plus it clunks when I put it in drive now. Let me know what you find out. I've parked the truck and I'm driving the Porsche for the time being.

My 5.9 01 Dakota will, occationally when i slow and stop, then start to take off again,it feels like i'm taking off in third gear. If i shift down into first gear it feels like it is binding up, the front of the truck will dive down. If you pull over and shut it off wait for a bit, then start up and take off it will work fine. I've taken it to a reputable trans. shop.they rebuilt the clutches. we put in a Huges torque converter and a stage 2 shift kit. does anyone have any ideas? Is it a tranny problem or a programing problem? Thanks

Might get better help if you start a new thread on this. You don't have the 45RFE in your truck.

1fastdog,
It would be nice if you would do a little more then bash. Offer some help to the people looking for it. I understand you think Kowalski has nothing to offer and you are a better person but obviously you are of lesser intelligence and of no use to anyone. If you want to one up somebody you do it by being better then them, in this case that would involve offering better help or being the better person. Grow up a bit and stop being petty. You impress no body and definitely don't intimidate anybody.
