 Subject: ABS & brake light on

2000 5.9 automatic, 4WD. ABS light and brake light came on a few days ago and stay on. Engine light came on several times last month but finally stopped. Any ideas as to what this might be before I end up taking it to the shop?

This same thing happened to me a few years back on my 99 rt. It ended up being the speed sensor on top of the differential on rear end. Don't know if it would be different with 4wd since mine is 2wd. Gotta be pretty close though. Does your speedo not really work till after about 30 mph? Thats what happened to mine. $50 for the sensor and ten minutes to swap out problem fixed.
