Message: I have a 2001 4.7L 4wd and was wondering what the
best brand of throttle body spacer is, and how easy
it is to install.

Message: If determined to get one, buy the cheapest you can find. Installation is simple - just put it on some papers on your desk and you will have a great paper weight. No one has ever dynoed a gain from a TB spacer on our 4.7. Some have claimed better throttle response; maybe just because they spent money ? Throttle response on my 4.7 is instantaneous. If it isn't on yours, most likely cause would be the TPS.

Message: Hi CaseyR & yes nothing but a waste of money.
Swirling the air before it mixes with the gas does nothing. TB spacers do benefit carb an TBI motors though.

Message: I agree with Kowalski....and even laughed at the joke.(maybe he does have a sense of humor)Most people imagine the gains from a spacer because its money they spent and dammit they are gonna get something out of it, but the final use ends up as Kowalski said.....a really good paper weight.

Message: We dont really know what mods you have now, better air filter is fairly cheap, like no-name says a chip or programmer is easy but not always cheap.

Message: 13 days til I finish another tour in Iraq....
Trying to buy "more power" for my 06 Dakota 4.7L V8 HO....BEFORE I GET HOME AND HAVE TO EXPLAIN TO MY WIFE WHY I NEED MORE HP!!!!!!$$$$$ It's also my B-Day so can try and slide it past her..
Can anyone let me know what my best options are?
And, do I have to run 91 octane for a chip to work or can I run normal gas and still use the performance setting?
Thanks, Walt.
