Subject: Trouble code 32... IP: Logged
Message: Alright, my engine light has NEVER come on before, but it finally happened, and now it happens once or twice a day. When I hook my reader up, I get code 32, which deals with the EGR system. My truck is 100% original 1995 parts except the radiator, water-pump, and fan-clutch. My old pump failed and had to be replaced, but when it failed it allowed the fan to slam into my radiator, turning it into a piece of junk.
So is it possible that my EGR valve is failing, or could something else be the cause? How could I test my EGR system to locate the cause?

Message: Considering it's a 95 most likely the EGR has failed.
They don't last forever,
Symptoms, poor running engine, drop in MPG's, pinging.
No cat or a leak before the cat could also cause it, They need some back pressure to work properly.

Message: That's what I thought, so I guess I'll have to either remove the EGR (since it started failing my power has seemed to go up) or bite the bullet and pay $70 for a new one, and that's an after-market version! I imagine Dodge would want $100 for the same thing. Funny thing is that I bought an EGR valve for a friend's 1996 F-150 and it was only $35. Then again, his is OBD-II and only consisted of one metal piece.

Message: 94 - 96 seem to have the more expensive EGR
It has a sensor with the unit.
You can try cleaning it, For what it's worth it did nothing when I tried. I just went with new
I did notice the truck ran a whole lot better and my MPG's improved nicely & pinging was gone.
