Subject: New 4.7 Dak today :) IP: Logged
Message: I just got a brand new 2002 Dakota 4.7 Liter V8 5 speed :)
I absolutely love it. Right now I'm planning for my first oil change; I wanna deck it out with performance plugs, wires, distributor cap, etc. What do you guys reccomend? You think I should wait until the oil change to replace the plugs and everything or should I go for it now? The truck has 67 miles on it right now so it's not broken in or anything.
Any reccomendations?
Thanx!

Message: Well, it sounds great. The 4.7 doesn't use a distributor cap or plug wires, it has a coil on plug system instead. But you can go with different spark plugs. I've got a set of NGK ZFR5F11 waiting to go in mine.

Message: I'd wait for 500 miles then change the oil and filter.
