Message: What vehicle ? Are you saying it sat for two years ? You seem to be saying it won't idle, or the idle fluctuates - which is it ?

Message: My 01 Dakota has 122k miles and it revs/fluctuates when it's idle, but only after I start it. As soon as I put it in gear it's fine, and it's fine in idle after that. It's been doing it for about 30k and haven't figured out what it is yet. Any ideas?

New plugs, cap and rotor are a must.
Remove the throttle body and remove the AIC carefully as not to
damage the plunger (located@rear of the TB)
Its probably dirty.....blast some TB cleaner on the AIC and in the
throttle body where the AIC sits.....
I know your check engine lite doesnt come on...but still check
for codes...it only takes 2 minutes.
Good Luck!!

Message: Drew and Roger, you guys may want o have your batteries load tested. Clean all battery connections. A weak battery can cause the symptoms you're describing.

Message: We had a customer who said he had a vacume line bent, and it was causing an fluctuating idle... Have you checked all your vacuume lines and make sure they are not twisted or bent closed.
I also agree that a low battery would cause idle issues. I had a Optima go bad... it actually had a bad cell... And would not show it being bad until about 10 minutes after shutting down... as it sat it just drained down... but if it was tested just after shutting down it read good. So have your battery checked... and have them take there time... because it may check good at first but bleed down over time.
