 Subject: What to do first after buying used V8 ??

First time dodge owner and need of help. I just bought a used 2001 v8 4.7liter quad cab with 105,000 miles. What would be your suggestions on waht to do first to make sure this truck last longer and runs smoothly. Thank you for your help, since im a first time dodge dakota owner.

I got my 05 at the end of may. Everything was pretty good and so i had a little bit of money left over. I got duals out the back and they sound so nice. I would personally recommend that if you have any extra money.

Unless you plan on using you truck for what it's really built for, Don't use synthetic oil. 10W30 will work just fine.
Even if Gerrick Doherty likes wasting his mony on synfads, that dosn't mean you do.
O' yeah, real men use full size trucks to push snow.
Durablend is what I'm using for my oldest truck. It's a junky 96.

With the plastic oil fill tube that doesn't conduct heat as well as metal would on your 4.7, some will see a nasty film in that area caused by condensation. Those of us running synthetic seem to see that much less.
I guess you've heard both sides now, an informed decision is yours to make.

i run synth to get away with only changing my oil once a year, I only put about 4,000 miles on it a year.
