 Subject: Service 4X4

My service four wheel drive light is on and will not ingage in 4X4. I had it in a shop for a day and they told me it would not comunicate to get the code as to what is wrong. What is there to comunicate? isnt it just a solinoid? Any Ideas of where to start?

No experience with that here; I've got the foolproof manual engagement on mine. Might help if people knew if you were talking about part time 4x4; or AWD though. That could matter a lot more than knowing it's got the tow package. Have you tried pulling a code yourself ?

It is part time 4wd not AWD. and it doesnt show any
codes only the service 4WD light is on.

Try replacing the Central Control Module for $500.
It seems to screw up everything and is the reason my "service 4WD" idiot light came on and head lights did not work and power windows did not work and etc.........else, service your 4WD........
